The DX Media Lab at Kansas State University is proud to announce the return of The Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous (LASER) talks for the Fall 2015 semester. Please join us on September 10th, 6pm at Willard Hall 114 (Manhattan campus)

This month’s talk will feature the following distinguished speakers:

DX Media Lab at ISEA 2015

The DX Media Lab will be well-represented at the prestigious International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA). Happening in Vancouver, BC this year, the symposium features interactive art exhibits, academic talks, workshops and more. DX Media Lab co-director Carlos Castellanos and his group DPrime Research will exhibit Mobile Bioenergy Lab (as part of the Oscillations exhibition) and run a workshop on constructing microbial fuel cells. Professor Castellanos and fellow DX Media Lab co-diretor Matt Garcia will also take part in a panel dicsussion on art, ecology and nonhuman systems. Hope to see you there!

LASER event this Thursday

The final Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous (LASER) event of the semester will be held this Thursday, May 7th from 6-8:30 p.m. in Willard Hall 114 at Kansas State University.

The agenda includes presentations of art/science projects, news from the audience, and time for casual socializing/networking.

This month’s talk will feature the following distinguished speakers:

William Hsu, Associate Professor, Department of Computing & Information Sciences, Kansas State University

Rebecca Bahlmann, Assistant Professor, Department of Art, Kansas State University

The K-State LASER series is co-sponsored by the DX Media Program, Kansas State University Art Department and Leonardo International Society for the Arts, Science and Technology. The rendezvous foster community and discussion around the intersection of art and science, serving as a platform for the dynamic cross-disciplinary conversations necessary to generate innovative ideas and perspectives. The K-State series is chaired by Carlos Castellanos, Assistant Professor, Department of Art.

Chaired by DX Media Co-director Carlos Castellanos the LASERs promise to bring lively interdisciplinary discussion on the intersection of art, science and technology to Kansas State University community.
